Dr. Jonathan Parham graduated in 2016 and he's practicing as part of Davis chiropractic in Reno, Nevada. Prior to chiropractic school he worked as part of a physical therapy office working with a multidisciplinary team. Let’s get right into it. As a recent graduate did you feel like there were a lot of jobs available and a lot of opportunities available for you?
Dr. Parham: Graduating is scary. As you go through school all you can think about is graduating and when you arrive all you can think about is fatigue, how to pay loans back and how to how to be a doctor. I was very fortunate because my involvement in the student American Chiropractic Association opened a lot of doors for me. I was part of a great network when it was time for me to look for a job.
I met my current boss because he is on the board of governors of the ACA. I feel really fortunate because I’ve had friends go through school and not be involved and they walk out with a great job doing exactly what they want to do and I’ve seen where people weren't involved and it was difficult for them to find a job without that network. Most of my friends that were heavily involved in ACA as students came out of school with really great jobs.
